Santa Clause is coming to town...he sees you when your sleeping, he knows when your awake, he knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake! All the shopping is done, with the stocking all hung by the chimney with care, hoping that saint nick soon would be there. Today is a day for family. Enjoy the day as if it was your last. The elderly in your family this could be the last Christmas for them so make this day extra special for them. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Oh no...only 18 days left till Christmas

Black Friday has come and gone, shopping centers are full of craziness this time of year. Everyone looking for bargains for their loved ones for Christmas morning. A time of year meant for family get togethers that has become mostly commercialized. Deck the halls with boughs of holly fa la la la la la la la la...and all that. The best part of this time of year is watching the Christmas specials on the tube. Remember the old classics? Rudolph the red nosed rain deer, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Twas the night before Christmas, A Christmas Story, How the Grinch stole Christmas, heck I even remember Perry Como and Bing Crosby Christmas Specials at this time of year. There I go giving away my age again lol. The important thing to remember is that Christmas is all about family. A time of year when you remember all your family members even if they are no longer here. Those memories last a lifetime. Christmas Cards are not as prevalent as in past years, thanks to high rising postage costs, many have gone to utilizing online methods of sending out holiday greetings. Many residents have outside decorations of beautiful lights on display to celebrate the season. Who can forget the effort that goes into doing all of that to make it look great? Putting up the tree and doing the decorations in doors is a great way to celebrate the season. The tree gets its ornaments, garland, lights and is unique every year. As we get closer to Christmas, remember to think about your family. After all that is what this holiday is supposed to be about, family.

Just Gotta Love Lake Effect Snow

Apparently mother nature must not have a sense of humor, while there are several motorist still stuck on the thruway from the snow storm, many have been stuck since the middle of the night around 2:00am and its now about 2PM, that's a solid 24 hours stuck. Ouch, that's a long time to go with no lavatory, food or beverages. Hopefully no one is freezing in their cars. No relief until later tonight they are saying. My prayers are with all of those stranded. Along with the multiple driving bans and state of emergencies currently in place, it's gonna be a bit of a dig out for many in the squall areas of western New York. The band of snow is going to shift to the southern tier later but the damage is already done. Many communities are reporting in excess of two feet of snow so far. To make matters worse, they expect more next week. Welcome to western new york... Looks like my general area will have it's white Christmas after all.

Black Friday

Some lake effect snow is expected today in our area. Can't say that I like hearing about that, but it's the price we have to pay living in Western New York. Hearing some really crazy stories about havoc at some stores today. One man was trampled when a store opened this morning in the Northtowns. He has been hospitalized, hopefully he will be OK. A lot of great deals out there, but is it really worth hurting yourself or someone else? Online shopping may be a better alternative. As always, if you venture out please be safe!

With the impending snow coming our way, I hope everyone has had a chance to get all the leaves up, if they remain all winter long, come spring you will notice that the grass has turned brown underneath them. We did our fair share of leaf cleanups this year and no doubt we will have more to do in the spring.

But now that the holiday season has arrived, outdoor & indoor decorations are going up all over town, getting in the holiday spirit is every where. The Santa Clause trailer is set up in the village plaza for all the kids to get to sit on Santa's lap and let him know what they wish to receive for Christmas. A real treasure for parents to take pictures of for very special memories.
